In every room of Carolyn “Cal” Street’s home in the city of Kalamazoo’s Northside neighborhood, Motown memories from her time as lead singer of The Velvelettes and her late ex-husband Richard Street’s days as one of The Temptations line the walls.
Much of this memorabilia is temporarily living at Miller Auditorium, where Cal and son Richard “Ricky” Allen Street, Jr. will share their memories of the golden era of Motown prior to the May 15 performance of “Ain’t Too Proud — The Life and Times of The Temptations.”
The award-winning show is a lively chronicle of The Temptations’ origin story in Detroit to its Hall of Fame destination. It will be staged at Miller on May 14 and 15, with an ASL interpreted performance on May 14. Cal and Ricky Street will also hold a brief Q&A after their pre-show talk on May 15…
