BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A confirmed EF-0 tornado tore through the St. Mary’s Lake neighborhood on the north side of Battle Creek, leaving a path of destruction in its wake.
Residents are now dealing with the aftermath, including damaged roofs, vehicles, and garages, as well as down power lines and several blocked roads.

One resident told News Channel 3 “thank God for neighbors,” because when he was taken to the E.R. after a tree rolled into his leg, neighbors helped him and his family remove a tree that had fallen onto his house, and then cover the large hole with a tarp.
Another tree was on top of the home’s detached garage, which he said was among damage that would have to wait for another day.
The tornado’s impact is visible throughout the neighborhood. However, for many, the damage is more personal. One woman recounted the story of pine trees planted by her oldest son from seeds he brought home from school…
