Kalamazoo County explains state of emergency declaration

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — On Saturday, Kalamazoo County declared a state of emergency in response to the severe storms and tornadoes that ripped through the area last week.

Emergency Management Director Brandi Janes said the decision was made as community organizations needed further assistance in providing resources to those who need them.
