KALAMAZOO, MI — A new shelter being built for homeless families is progressing, but the estimated opening date has been delayed, officials said.
Kalamazoo County finalized the purchase of the Country Inn & Suites, 1912 E. Kilgore Service Road, in March. The plan is to open it as a transitional shelter for homeless families with children called “The Landing Place.”
