LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 31, 2025) – Two from the Lakeshore are among the 50 newest members of the Michigan State Police force.
Graduating from the 148th Trooper Recruit School on Friday afternoon were Joseph Beute of Dorr and Michaela Woodwyk-Reiffer of Zeeland, both of whom were initially assigned to the Wayland post, along with Brandon Buckley of Sturgis and Mason Nowicki of Byron Center. Starting this past January 12th, they went through several weeks of training, at the state police center in the Lansing suburb of Dimondale, in patrol techniques, report writing, ethics, cultural diversity and implicit bias, decision making, leadership, first aid, criminal law, crime scene processing, firearms, water safety, defensive tactics, and precision driving…
