KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The second estate sale in honor of local legend Gene “The Pumpkin Man” Rhodes starts Wednesday.
Rhodes, more commonly known as Gene the Pumpkin Man, passed away in December 2024. He was the third generation to farm his property along M-43 in Kalamazoo, and after starting to sell pumpkins in 1957, families began visiting his farm for decades to enjoy fall festivities, including pumpkin picking.
