KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The long-anticipated opening of the Kik Pool has been postponed due to a delay in lifeguard training, the Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation Department announced this week.
As temperatures rise and summer approaches, locals were eager for the pool’s scheduled opening this Wednesday. But instead, they’ll have to wait a little longer before diving in.

“We’re disappointed to share that the opening of Kik Pool will be postponed due to a delay with lifeguard training,” the department wrote in a statement on its Facebook page. “We’re working as quickly as possible to get a full team of lifeguards trained and ready, but we don’t have a new opening date to share at this time.”…
