AUDIO: Kalamazoo city commission to vote on contracts with arena developers for utilities, more

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo city commissioners are scheduled to approve contracts with the developers of the new downtown arena to reconfigure all the utilities, waterways, and other infrastructure around the new sports and entertainment complex.

Utilities director James Baker calls it a “dig once” strategy that is less expensive and more convenient for the public.

But it won’t be hassle free. A two block stretch of that vital roadway will be closed for the rest of the construction season…
