KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Mountain Home Cemetery in Kalamazoo has become the final resting place for a man believed to be one of the city’s earliest settlers.

Human remains were found during routine construction near Park Place and South Westnedge Avenue in November.
Forensic anthropologists determined that the remains belonged to a white male settler in his late 20’s or early 30’s, born in the late 1870’s, making him a member of the post-Revolutionary War generation.
