VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI – A 69-year-old man died Sunday, June 29, in a fire at his Covert Township home, police said.
The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of family.
Covert Township police and firefighters responded to a 9:53 p.m. report of a structure fire in the 7200 block of 36th Avenue. Witnesses told firefighters that the homeowner was still inside.
