WHITE PIGEON TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents and summer visitors to prioritize water safety after a kayaker was reported missing on Fawn River and located safely following a coordinated multi-agency search effort.
Last night around 7 p.m. , the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing kayaker who had failed to return after a trip along the Fawn River. A large-scale search and rescue operation was launched, involving multiple agencies, including Indiana DNR, White Pigeon Police, Lifecare and St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office Dive Rescue. Drone technology and ground crews were utilized to assist in locating the individual.
After several hours of being missing, a coordinated effort was deployed, and the kayaker was located eventually located safely and was evaluated by medical personnel on scene. No serious injuries were reported…
