Kayakers work to fix reputation of polluted river — with help from their ‘boat kitty’

KALAMAZOO, MI — A group of kayakers — and one furry feline friend — wants to get more Kalamazoo residents out on the Kalamazoo River.

The Kalamazoo Paddle Club started as a group of friends on Facebook. Now they’re a nonprofit trying to ensure everyone in Kalamazoo has access to the river.
