Police: 12-year-old arrested in Kalamazoo Township after break-in

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 12-year-old was arrested after breaking into a home in Kalamazoo Township on Thursday, police say.

The Township of Kalamazoo Police Department says they responded to a burglary on Texel Drive near Gull Road around 4 p.m. When they arrived, the homeowner had returned and noticed signs of a break-in and missing items.

After an investigation, the 12-year-old was found and arrested. They were taken to a juvenile home, but police say they didn’t meet the criteria for lodging and were subsequently released to a guardian…
