KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Patrick Vanderbush had run about a dozen marathon’s when he decided to celebrate a milestone birthday with his very first international marathon.
“It was a great coincidence that the Detroit marathon that I’d waited for to land on my birthday, landed on my 60th birthday, and it’s a nice big round number for me, and I anticipated this day for a very long time” said Vanderbush.
“Basically it was a gorgeous day, everything was going just the way i expected it to. I made a quick plan to get to the finish line in a certain time. The next thing I know I wake up staring at strange ceiling tiles.”…
