COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies are investigating a possible racially motivated vandalism in Comstock Township.
On Thursday around 1 a.m., deputies with the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office were sent to Cascade Street near E G Avenue after receiving reports about vandalism.
Responding deputies learned that a Ford F-350 had been found with its tires slashed, a chemical sprayed on the hood and racial slurs and symbols carved in the exterior. The owner was contacted and interviewed, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies believe the vandalism was racially motivated, “which may result in enhanced hate crime charges under Michigan law,” the sheriff’s office said…
