Man charged with open murder after argument leads to shooting in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A man has been charged in connection to an argument that allegedly led to a fatal shooting in Battle Creek last week.

Terron Stephenson, 36, was arraigned Thursday on the following, according to court documents obtained by News Channel 3:

  • Open murder statutory short form
  • Weapons – felony firearm
  • Weapons – firearm in possession by a prohibited person

His bond was denied, court records detailed.

Officers with the Battle Creek Police Department were called to South 22nd Street, between South 20th Street and South 23rd Street, just after 2 a.m. Wednesday.
