In a recent sweep by the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS), ten illegal firearms were seized, and multiple teenagers were arrested over the span of one week. This enforcement action was a strategic response to a spate of gun violence that has unsettled the Kalamazoo community.
Details released by KDPS reveal that the arrests took place between July 7 and July 14 and involved individuals ranging in age from 15 to 19. During one incident on July 7, as reported by FOX 17, a 16-year-old was apprehended after a foot chase, and on July 14, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested after one tried to flee from the authorities.
