Man arrested in Bloomingdale Township after assaulting deputies during welfare check

BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A man was arrested in Bloomingdale Township for allegedly assaulting two sheriff’s deputies during a welfare check Monday.

At around 10:30 p.m., deputies from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office (VBCSO) responded to 37 1/2 Street in Bloomingdale Township to check the welfare of someone at a residence.

A family member called VBCSO with concerns for the resident’s wellbeing. Deputies entered the residence with help from the family member.
