Historic 1930s tavern reopens with cinematic theme after being shuttered for 12 years

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI –– Closed for 12 years, a historic and beloved tavern has reopened with a facelift and new theme that’ll have visitors feeling like they’re in a movie theater.

Mike and Roxann Tustin purchased the Gull Road Tavern, or “The GIRT,” in 2014, after it closed its doors the year before. It reopened June 30.
