BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A man accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend near Battle Creek last month has been brought back to Michigan to face a murder charge.
Kyle McNutt, 36, was expected to be arraigned Friday on charges of open murder, first-degree child abuse and weapons counts, court records show.

The shooting happened June 3 on Gorsline Road near 12 Mile Road in Pennfield Township. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says that when deputies got there, they found 34-year-old Ofellia Baldwin outside a home with a gunshot wound to the head. She was taken to the hospital, where authorities say she died June 13.
According to court documents filed by investigators, Baldwin’s son told detectives that his mother and McNutt, who lived with them, had been arguing the day of the shooting. Then, while in the car near the house, Baldwin got McNutt’s gun, the son said…
