Expect larger military presence, loud noises around Battle Creek during training

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — The City of Battle Creek is issuing a notice for residents that they may hear some loud noises in the coming days while the 110th Wing Air National Guard helps host a major training exercise.

Northern Strike is one of the Department of Defense’s largest reserve readiness exercises that will run for more than two weeks across the state. Exercises involving Battle Creek Executive Airport are slated to start Thursday and run through Aug. 12.

City officials do not expect any slowdowns or issues around the airport but warn people will likely see an increased military presence and some loud noises…
