0.8 miles of Kalamazoo River revitalized in $7M dam removal project

PLAINWELL, MI — A stretch of the Kalamazoo River in Plainwell is ready to welcome recreation and wildlife after a years-long restoration project.

The 0.8-mile stretch near M-89 and U.S. 131 was degraded by paper mill pollution and the dam, according to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
