KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Fifty brand-new pod homes with heating and beds that were originally intended for homeless individuals in Kalamazoo are now part of plans to serve the unhoused population in our state’s capital city.
The pods, which were originally purchased by Kalamazoo non-profit Housing Resources Inc. (HRI) in 2021 with a price tag of $1 million, utilized an individual budget generated through donations, according to a spokesperson.
