Update: The current severe thunderstorm warning for Michigan will expire at 6 p.m. EDT

The warning had been issued for Barry, Eaton and Ionia counties.

“The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, lightning and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm,” explains the National Weather Service.
