Portage Road reopens after car hit electric pole, no one injured but some without power

PORTAGE, Mich. — Parts of Portage Road are reopened Tuesday morning after a car hit a power pole.

Kalamazoo County Consolidated Dispatch Authority officials are advising drivers to seek an alternate route on Portage Road between South Shore Drive and Emily Avenue after a car hit a power pole Tuesday morning. No one is injured.

The pole is still standing, however, the power line is in the road and about 20 people are without power while Consumers Energy crews work to replace it.
