KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Beginning on Aug. 23, visitors to the Kalamazoo County Expo Center can attend the BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Event — a cross-country convention for professional and amateur LEGO artists.
“We have a lot of hype coming into the event right now,” Roland Beights, event organizer for BrickUniverse, said. “Social media has been going crazy.”

After over 120 events across the U.S., BrickUniverse will be making its Michigan debut with several featured professional artists, an exhibitor’s hall of hobbyist builders and a shopping area with exclusive deals and commemorative products.
“LEGO is not just a toy, it is an artform,” Beights said. “At the show, you’re going to see amazing creations built entirely out of LEGO.”
Participating exhibitors will be competing over the People’s Choice Award, decided by public vote for the visitors’ favorite AFOL — “Adult Fan Of LEGO” — creation…
