Pedestrian ‘scramble’ crossing will stop traffic at busy Kalamazoo intersection

KALAMAZOO, MI — A vibrant, floral mural splashed across Portage Street in the Edison Neighborhood is the focal point of a new pedestrian crossing system.

The mural at Portage Street and Washington Avenue denotes a new traffic signal pattern at the intersection called a “pedestrian scramble.”
