Update: Thunderstorms with pea-sized hail in Van Buren and Kalamazoo counties Saturday

An updated report from the National Weather Service was issued on Saturday at 4:44 p.m. EDT for strong thunderstorms until 5:30 p.m. EDT for Van Buren and Kalamazoo counties.

Be ready for pea-sized hail (0.25 inches) and wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

“At 4:44 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm near Mattawan, or 7 miles northeast of Paw Paw, moving east at 30 mph,” according to the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.”…
