PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 19-year-old Climax man was arrested Saturday night after deputies said he struck a pedestrian in the Battle Creek area and then took off.
The hit-and-run happened around 11 p.m. on North Avenue near East Coolidge Avenue in Pennfield Township. Witnesses told Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office that a northbound car going at a high rate of speed hit a 33-year-old Battle Creek man who was crossing the street.
Deputies found the victim unconscious in the roadway and started first aid until firefighters and paramedics arrived. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said…
