Kalamazoo bakery grand opening fueled by Michigan Women Forward Support

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kristi Potts, a Kalamazoo native and longtime community baker, officially opened her storefront for KZOO Cream Frosted Whispers Cookies Tuesday afternoon in the Vine neighborhood.

The grand opening featured a ceremonial ribbon-cutting as supporters, including Mayor David Anderson, first responders, friends, family, and local residents, cheered on the launch.

Potts has baked since childhood, perfecting her mother’s cream-cheese sugar cookies alongside her mom, who has since been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, as a way of preserving cherished memories.
