Standoff lasting several hours in St. Joseph County ends with two arrests

MENDON, Mich. — Two people are in custody after a standoff lasting several hours in Mendon Township on Friday.

At around 8 a.m., the St. Joseph Valley Special Response Team assisted the Mendon Police Department with a search warrant for a person with a known violent history, according to law enforcement.

Investigators executed a search warrant on Pleasant Road in Mendon Township. While they didn’t locate the subject, they gathered information that led investigators to a second address on East Street in the village of Mendon.
