Boil water advisory to go into effect in Parchment

PARCHMENT, Mich. (WOOD) — A boil water advisory will go into effect in Parchment later this week.

Around 8 a.m. Thursday, the water will be shut off for repairs and there will be a temporary loss of pressure, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Services said. That’s why officials are issuing a precautionary boil water advisory.

The advisory will be in effect on both sides of Parchmount Avenue, starting at Clarnin Street and extending about 800 feet west; on both sides of Clarnin from Haymac Drive to Parchmount; and on both sides of Haymac, starting at Clarnin and extending about 500 feet west.

Everyone in the affected area should boil their water for two minutes before consuming it. It’s safe to bathe in the water without boiling it…
