Shots fired, carjacking near WMU a ‘reality check’ for off-campus students

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Authorities are on the hunt for two suspects following a shooting and armed carjacking that occurred near Western Michigan University (WMU) in the early hours of Sunday.

The incidents took place off North Kendall Avenue, where many students from WMU live in off-campus apartments.
