Kalamazoo Choral Arts’ reason for being is to create, enrich, and transform the community through singing.
KCA programming includes the traditional choral canon as it has for nearly eight decades, while introducing new composers who represent greater racial and cultural diversity, which is a key factor in attracting a more diverse population of singers and audiences. This is manifested in a regular performance and outreach season that runs from September to June, with over 10 scheduled concerts and events this year.
KCA continues its middle school and high school outreach program coordinated between our music director and local choral teachers to numerous middle schools, and will return to hosting the Jim Turner Choral Festival – a two-day high school choral festival at Kalamazoo College with a renowned visiting clinician – in January 2026…
