Kalamazoo sees drop in traffic crashes as city leaders credit ‘Streets for All’ initiative

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The number of traffic crashes in Kalamazoo is down again this year, continuing a steady decline city leaders say reflects ongoing safety improvements.

Newly released data shows crashes through the first seven months of 2025 are at their lowest level in years. Officials credit the “Streets for All” initiative, which includes lane elimination, roundabouts, bike lanes and enhanced pedestrian crossings.
