Court doc: Man charged for transporting threatened snakes to Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man has been charged for transporting threatened species of snakes between Indiana and Michigan over five years ago, according to court documents.

Scott Hitchcock was charged with Lacey Act Trafficking, according to a document filed Monday in the United States District Court Western District of Michigan.

The Lacey Act makes it illegal to transport or sell “fish or wildlife that was taken, possessed, transported or sold in violation of any law or regulation of any state,” the document reads…
