Man charged after driving car with several passengers into Kalamazoo bank

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A man who drove a vehicle carrying several passengers into a bank in downtown Kalamazoo last month has been arraigned on two charges.

Kristopher Ryan Neff, 22, was charged with one count of operating while intoxicated and one count of operating with a BAC of .17 or more on Sept. 5, according to court records.

Before crashing into a building occupied by Highpoint Community Bank in the early morning hours of Aug. 6, Kalamazoo Public Safety (KDPS) officers observed Neff driving through the downtown area at an estimated speed of 100 mph.

In total, there were six people inside the car at the time of the crash. In addition to Neff, KDPS said a 16-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy, and a 34-year-old woman were also inside the car…
