Putting a limit on pets? Cooper Township officials brainstorm domestic animal ordinance

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — How many pets are too much? That’s a question that officials in Kalamazoo County’s Cooper Charter Township say they’ve been asked often enough from residents that they decided it may be time to lock down a more “official” answer.

On Wednesday night, the planning commission discussed an early draft of a proposed “Keeping Domestic Animals” ordinance, including the possibility of limiting the number of all domestic animals to no more than three for homes on less than 2.5 acres of property.
