4 shot, hospitalized in early morning shooting near Western Michigan University

KALAMAZOO (WWJ) – The investigation into an early morning shooting that injured four near Western Michigan University is ongoing.

Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers were called to the 2700 block of West Michigan Avenue at around 3:15 a.m. Saturday for reports of gunshots. Once on the scene, officers found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his heel, along with a grazing wound. He was taken to a local hospital.

A 23-year-old man arrived at a local hospital shortly after with a gunshot wound to the stomach, according to a press release from KDPS. Two other 23-year-old men were treated for gunshot wounds to their feet. A 21-year-old man sustained “minor facial injuries” from debris, but authorities say he was not shot…
