‘We are not the after party’: Kalamazoo restaurant hires security after shooting

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Two Fellas Grill in Kalamazoo says it will up its security and cut its hours after a shooting where four people were shot and another injured early Saturday.

In a post Wednesday evening, the restaurant said the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety will have a stronger presence outside its location near the intersection of West Michigan Avenue and Euclid Avenue. It also said it hired armed private security to protect employees and customers at the restaurant.

Two Fellas will now close at 3 a.m. instead of 4 a.m., the restaurant said.

“All of these steps that we are taking are an effort to ensure that our establishment remains a safe fun place for people to go. We love to be the late night place for people to go after the party, but we ARE NOT the after party. We are just a restaurant trying to serve delicious hot grilled tortilla wraps,” Two Fellas wrote in the post…
