THREE RIVERS — Some operations at American Axle and Manufacturing in Three Rivers were briefly shut down Thursday after a fire broke out on the roof of the building.
According to the Three Rivers Fire Department, the fire was reported at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, with multiple departments responding. Upon arrival, firefighters found a part of the roof on fire and were able to extinguish it after access was granted. Those working in the building were evacuated during the fire.
No injuries were reported, according to firefighters, and a small area of the plant had to be closed down due to water runoff into the building from firefighting operations.
