OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was formally charged Tuesday with killing a woman near Kalamazoo over the weekend.
Jayvon Cortez Bulock, 27, was arraigned on charges of open murder and a weapons charge. Bond was denied, which means he’ll stay behind bars while his case works its way through the court system.
The charges stem from an assault and a murder over the weekend. According to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, a neighbor reported “what sounded like a disturbance followed by gunfire” at Mount Royal Townhomes in Oshtemo Township on Saturday at around 3:30 a.m.
