Kalamazoo seeks feedback for downtown improvements, accessibility in second survey

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The latest round of Kalamazoo’s Downtown Vitality Survey is open until Oct. 31.

The survey, which is conducted twice a year by the city and Western Michigan University’s Transportation Research Center for Livable Communities (TRCLC), tracks how residents experience downtown, according to the the City of Kalamazoo.

It also informs decisions that “support businesses, accessibility and community vibrancy.”

“This survey is about making sure residents and visitors see themselves in the future of downtown,” Christina Anderson, city planner and deputy director of Community Planning and Economic Development, said. “Every response gives us a clearer picture of what’s working well and what needs improvement as we prepare for major investments in 2026.”…
