Bronson Healthcare Group could drop out of health insurer UnitedHealthcare’s network if the two are unable to reach an agreement on a new contract.
The Kalamazoo-based health system today began notifying patients about the ongoing negotiations with UnitedHealthcare, a national commercial carrier and the largest health insurer in the U.S. by membership.
If the negotiations to replace the three-year contract fail to lead to a new deal, Bronson’s hospitals, physician offices, and outpatient care centers would become out of network for UnitedHealthcare employer-sponsored, commercial insurance plans beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
