WMU hosts training this week for active shooter response

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Western Michigan University’s Department of Public Safety is working with local law enforcement and fire departments in Kalamazoo this week, holding training for how they would respond to an active shooter.

According to WMU, the training will take place Wednesday through Friday, which is the university’s fall break, in the vacant Knauss Hall.

Police and fire vehicles will be visible around the area of Knauss Hall while training is being conducted…
