QUINCY, Mich. — 71 animals seized from a Calhoun County home are now being cared for by several West Michigan animal shelters.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office seized the dogs while responding to an animal neglect call on 8 1/2 Mile Road near G Drive Tuesday morning.
Deputies discovered unsanitary and hazardous living conditions, including “significant amounts of animal waste” as well as numerous cats and dogs in poor health inside the single-story home, according to the sheriff’s office.
