On November 2, 2025, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) officers responded to a domestic assault involving a firearm in the 2200 block of Flower Street. A 51-year-old woman was found injured after being struck with a firearm by her partner. She was treated at a local hospital.
The suspect, a 46-year-old man, stayed inside the home with the weapon when officers arrived. After attempts to contact him were unsuccessful, the Kalamazoo Metro SWAT and Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team were called.
