On November 3, 2025, the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team and Crime Reduction Team conducted a patrol in the 5000 block of W KL Ave, Oshtemo Township. The patrol aimed to address illegal weapons activity. Officers saw a 27-year-old man, identified as a convicted felon, with a firearm in his waistband before he entered a parked vehicle. Police arrested him without incident and found a loaded handgun with a high-capacity magazine next to him.
A second person, a 45-year-old Kalamazoo resident and also a convicted felon, was seen dropping an object onto the vehicle floor as officers approached. Police recovered the firearm and found two more loaded magazines during a search. Both men were arrested and taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail for weapons violations…
