KDPS: 2 arrested, loaded guns seized in directed patrol

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Investigators in Kalamazoo say they arrested two men for weapons violations during an operation earlier this week.

On Monday, members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team and Crime Reduction Team were in the area of W. KL Avenue and S. Drake Road. They were conducting a “directed patrol … to combat illegal weapons offenses,” according to a release from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

They saw a man conceal a firearm in his waistband, then get into a parked car, according to the release. Investigators said they knew the man was a convicted felon and could not possess a gun…
