Kalamazoo airport hosts food drive to aid unpaid TSA and air traffic control staff

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Amid the ongoing government shutdown, the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (AZO) is hosting a food drive Friday to feed around 100 Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents and air traffic control (ATC) agents.

On Oct. 28, workers received their first zero-dollar paycheck.

Employees have been required to show up for work without the promise of a paycheck at the end of a standard pay period…
